Stratosphere Tower Summary Via Public Feedback:

  • At 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and can be seen from all over Las Vegas. Public feedback regarding the amusement rides on top of it have been mixed. Due to 2 notable incidents, the public is extremely suspect concerning the safety of the amusement rides on the Stratosphere Tower.

  • On April 20th, 2005 the Insanity attraction stalled for more than 80 minutes! A young girl was stuck up in the air in the bitter cold while officials tried to get her back to safety. The public who contacted us indicated that if an attraction can stall for 80 minutes, who's to say it cannot happen again? Good question.

  • The Las Vegas media and the paying public have  been in touch with Amusement Safety Organization regarding this venue. They, too wonder how Clark County Inspectors could pass attractions up on the Stratosphere Tower with no manual ways of getting a stalled attraction back to its platform. It is a question like that which has us scratching our heads and begs the most obvious question: how does one overseeing the safety of the public overlook such a thing?
