Comments

EPCOT

1

  • Motion Sickness - Riders on the Mission Space ride made mention of motion sickness and vomiting during and after the ride. Sign placement indicating not to ride if you suffer motion sickness should be followed by guests.
  • Misc. - Mission Space was an interesting ride - with riders saying they never "get motion sick," yet this ride "got to them." It provides credibility to what we have been saying for years, sometimes a rider does not know their limits and it takes a ride like this to show them.
    • There are other things mentioned to us about this venue, but nothing meeting our 10+ criteria.

Hollywood Studios

2

  • Misc. Injuries - Riders on the Star Tours motion simulator have made mention of exiting this ride with headaches, blurry vision, and stomach pain due to seatbelt digging into stomach.
  • Back Issues - Riders on the Star Tours motion simulator have made mention of back pain associated with riding. Riders indicating that the sudden, and jerky movements, made back pain possible.
  • Misc. - Not many other issues were observed at this venue. There 8 issues with Rock n Roller Coaster, but at this time we have nothing to add. Several slip and fall issues as well as anxiety issues with Tower of Terror. If someone does not want to ride Tower of Terror and is freaking out, please do not force them to ride. It is unsafe for not only them, but riders around them.

Animal Kingdom

3

  • Back and Neck Issues - Riders on the Primeval wild mouse roller coaster have made mention of this extremely rough nature doing a number on their back. Rider injury age 35+ and up. Riders also mentioning that this ride flung them around, with their neck being snapped around.
    • Riders on the Dinosaur ride also made mention of being thrown around inside of the ride car. Back and neck issues were observed within all areas of the ride car. Rider age varied.
  • Misc. Injuries - Riders on the Primeval wild mouse roller coaster also indicated stomach related pain associated with riding this roller coaster. Riders indicating that this ride flung them into the side of the coaster car and also up into the restraint. Was mentioned that ride is apparently a bit smoother since track work was completed on it.
  • Slips - Riders on the Kali River Rapids water ride made mention of slipping when entering and exiting their rafts. Many of these issues appear to stem from riders being rushed in and out of the raft. Age varied, with a good number of slip and falls associated with parents assisting their children with getting in and out of the raft.

Magic Kingdom

3

  • Slip and Fall - The most common occurrence at the Magic Kingdom below the rides:
    • The Haunted Mansion, riders on this attraction have slipped coming out of their doom buggies. Common issue stems from crying kids frightened to come out and parents not watching their step.
    • Splash Mountain, riders on this attraction have slipped coming out of their logs. Common complaint was being rushed and steeping inside of the log and slipping. Several issues of riders asking ride operators to wipe off their seat due to wetness and being told to please get into their log.
  • Heat Related Issues - With as many people as this venue sees, heat related issues should not come as a surprise. Drinking water is important and we urge guests to do so before, during, and after their visit.
  • Misc. Issue -  Guest have made mention of having a hard time locating this parks first aid station for aid. Once there, guests have applauded the parks medical staff, but getting there has proven to be hard. Coupled with cast members who didn't know how to get there or weren't sure didn't bode well with guests.

Disneyland

3

  • Slip and fall – Riders coming off and on to Splash Mountain have had issues with losing their footing due to wet slippery conditions. Riders have made mention this was due in part to the rapid load and unload process of the ride.

    • Riders on the Haunted Mansion have also had issues with the rapid unload/load process. Riders falling as they exited their ride vehicle were also reported.

  • Back and Neck – Riders on the Indiana Jones Adventure ride have had issues with back and neck related injuries. Riders have indicated that the rough nature turns and sudden jolts were what initiated their pain. Rider age varied.

  • Motion Sickness – Riders on the Star Tours motion simulator ride have made mention of feeling sick due to the movements on the screen not matching up with those of the ride vehicle.

  • Misc. – There were various other injuries at this park, however, none that reached 10+ injuries. Overall, for the amount of people who visit, Disneyland appears to be a safe place. There were also some issues with cast members not knowing the location of 1st aid when asked by guests. This appears to be a re-occurring theme within Disney parks.

California Adventure

3

  • Slip and Fall – Riders exiting and entering the Grizzly River Run ride, have made mention of slipping and falling. Many of these issues were not due to rapid load/unload process, but we are finding, a majority of these issues were occurring due to guests not paying attention and trying to "jump in/out of rafts.

  • Back – Riders on the Mulholland Madness roller coaster have made mention of back pain associated with riding this wild mouse type roller coaster. Back injuries appeared to occur with riders who were riding with their children. These riders had one arm on their child and their other on the lap bar. This in turn exposed the rider to an unsafe riding position, which in turn, caused back pain.

  • Misc. Issue – Guest watching the Tough to Be a Bug attraction made mention of blurry vision and eye pain. This occurred to guests who were wearing bi-focal glasses.

    • Riders on Tower of Terror have mentioned being scratched, clawed, grabbed, and slapped by fellow riders when this attraction began its drop sequences.
